EP#207 - Empowering Men The Alpha Hippie Way

EP#207 - Empowering Men The Alpha Hippie Way

September 5, 2020

In this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing a good friend of mine who has been the podcast before (EP#43), Angelo Sisco.

Angelo and I have known each other for over 30 years and the man who he is today is inspiring to see.

We both grew up in Melrose Park, IL, went to high school together and so much more.

In this episode, Angelo and I discuss the lack of men learning what it is to be a man.  In many other cultures, they take men, at a specific age, and teach them what it is meant to be a man.

I know I wish I had this when I was growing up instead of learning from the hard knocks of life.

Who is Angelo Sisco?

On October 15th, 2002, Angelo Sisco was involved in a hit and run motorcycle accident that changed his life forever. In an instant, he went from being a 20-year-old entrepreneur to someone fighting to save his leg and his way of life.

After 8 surgeries, two months in a hospital bed, 5 months of daily rehab and the encouraging news from his doctors that any kind of athletics is permanently out of the question, Angelo fell into a deep depression. In 2009 he discovered CrossFit and everything changed once again. He had a new focus. He had a new purpose. He lost 100 pounds, which catapulted a 10-year journey that he couldn’t even imagine.

During the 2010s, Angelo opened O’Hare CrossFit and CrossFit Harwood Heights, consulted over 400 affiliates worldwide, co-founded Lifestyle Nutrition and Conquer Athlete, became an international speaker on how to succeed as an affiliate owner, coached multiple CrossFit games, competitors.

Angelo’s success in coaching and business gave him the confidence to begin what he would consider his most important journey of them all, self-development in 2015.  After years of deep inner work, reflection, and growth Angelo titled his journey of self-discovery, Alpha Hippie.

In true Angelo Sisco fashion, he followed what inspired him and began sharing his message through his podcast Alpha HIppie, and began mentoring other men on their path to self-discovery.

In late 2019 Angelo realized he was at a crossroads in his career.  A choice had to be made; to stay in a place of comfort or step into the identity that was calling him, Alpha Hippie.  Angelo chose to step fully into Alpha Hippie.

In 2020, emits the most unprecedented time in our recent history, Angelo removed himself from all business ventures that were CrossFit related, moved his new family to San Clemente, California, and partnered up with Markus Gerszi to embark on a renewed more focus version of Alpha Hippie.

Alpha Hippie’s mission is to help overwhelmed men over 30, who are stuck in stress and burnout, reconnect to their mission and rebuild their lifestyle, so they can enjoy their free time again and get back to crushing it at work again.

Alpha Hippie share’s their mission via their men’s Facebook group, Be the Bad-Ass you were born to be, the Alpha Hippie podcast, and program for men entitled Alpha Hippie Foundations.

In his free time, Angelo loves to travel, eat great food, and spend time with the people closest to him.

EP#113 - Make a Choice and Commit

EP#113 - Make a Choice and Commit

July 17, 2019

How many times did you want to change something in your life and find yourself 1-2 months later, not doing what you commited to?

How many times did you let the wind of life take you instead of you declaring where you want to go?

After working with many entrepreneurs and studying human behaviour and pscyhology for over 10 years, I have noticed how many people quit or allow stories and excuses to pull them away from the EXACT thing they desire in their life.

In this episode, I share about the importance of making a choice, what it means to decide and how to commit to see it through all the way, even when it is failing..

Why would that be?  Why would I say, "Make a choice and see it through regardless of results?"

Tune in to find out...

EP#111 - The Choice of Freedom

EP#111 - The Choice of Freedom

July 11, 2019

Freedom is a word that may mean a variety of things to each individual.  Every time in the US, when 4th of July comes around, I think of Freedom in the sense of many realms and aspects to our lives.

I think about ourselves, from the most primitive, as a soul being given FREE WILL from our Creator.

I think about the FREEDOM I have to think in whichever way I desire.

I think about the FREEDOM to choose who and what I want to be and show up in the world.

I think about the FREEDOM I have to create anything I desire for creativity and life is in our soul's DNA.

This episode will help give you more clarity and focus on what your freedom you choose to achieve, create, experience in your life.

Do you want freedom in your financials?  What does that look like?

Do you want freedom in your marriage?  What does that look like?

For more info, check out the podcast and let us know what you think!

EP#101 - The End to Binge Eating

EP#101 - The End to Binge Eating

May 17, 2019

Glenn Livingston, Ph.D. is a veteran psychologist and was the long time CEO of a multi-million dollar consulting firm which has serviced several Fortune 500 clients in the food industry. Glenn has sold $30,000,000 of marketing consulting services over the course of his career.

You may have seen his (or his company’s) previous work, theories, and research in major periodicals like The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Sun Times, The Indiana Star Ledger, The NY Daily News, American Demographics, or any of the other major media outlets you see on this page. You may also have heard him on ABC, WGN, and/or CBS radio, or UPN TV.

Disillusioned by what traditional psychology had to offer overweight and/or food obsessed individuals, Dr. Livingston spent several decades researching the nature of bingeing and overeating via work with his own patients AND a self-funded research program with more than 40,000 participants.

Most important, however, was his own personal journey out of obesity and food prison to a normal, healthy weight and a much more lighthearted relationship with food.

EP#78 - Trust the Universe

EP#78 - Trust the Universe

February 19, 2019

One of the biggest things humans dislike is uncertainty.  Think about this for a second.  What is the biggest fear humans have besides public speaking?  Death...  Why is death such a scary topic?  Is it due to the uncertainty in the afterlife?

Is it because logically, we cannot understand the concept of what living in a non physical world would mean to us?

I can go on and on but what about the uncertainty of circumstances in our life.  Our business?  Our financials?  Our goals?  Dreams? Ambitions?

What if uncertainty is the arena of where our goals, dreams and the life we desire to experience existed at?  What if we have to step into the unknown to truly grasp what we desire?

In order to size up in life, whether that is in business, financials, family, etc., you have to step into the arena of uncertainty.

In this podcast, I will help give you certainty in the uncertainty with that, the UNIVERSE is always WORKING for you...

Tune in for more and let me know what you think...
